THE BRITISH
THE GERMANS

Sealion Tournament

These are general guidelines for the tournament, if you have any further questions you can contact me at my e-mail address or via the blitz website.

1 - The tournament will last for four rounds (with a possible fifth round added in the event of a tie-break situation or general interest).

2 - Each game will vary in length and the time allocated for completion will vary accordingly. The duration of each round and its finish date will be posted before you receive the scenario.

3 - Each round will last approximately 2 months.

4 - In Rounds 1 and 3 the forces will have been deployed for you and reinforcements will arrive for both sides. In Rounds 2 and 4 you will be able to deploy your own forces as you see fit but what those forces consist of will be pre-determined. In the event that we stretch the game to a fifth round that round will also be a free deploy scenario.

5 - All games will be played in WinSPWW2 slot004 and passwords will be sent to each player by me.

6 - Players will be divided into two teams in the order in which they sign up. The teams will then be designated British or German. Players will remain on those teams for the duration of the tournament i.e. you will play the whole game as the British OR the Germans, but not a mix unless unforeseen circumstances occur (like players dropping out).

7 - If a player drops out mid-game I will try to find a volunteer to complete the round for the other player, if the worst comes to the worst I will finish the round myself. The player who drops out will score no points for that round and will be expelled from the tournament. Extenuating circumstances may exclude you from this but make sure you keep everyone (me and your opponent) notified.

8 - Opponents will be determined randomly but no player will face the same opponent twice. Bear in mind that you may find yourself playing against a top ranked player.

9 - Points will be scored using the Shadow Player System. The scenarios are not strictly balanced therefore your performance will be judged against the performance of other players on your team according to how well you do. You will be awarded points as follows:

1st place Overwhelming Victory

2nd place Decisive Victory

3rd place Medium Victory

4th place Minor Victory

5th place etc. Draw

Therefore at the end of a round there will be 2 first place players, 2 second place players etc.

Tournament points will be awarded as follows:

1st place - 5 points
2nd place - 4 points
3rd place - 3 points
4th place - 2 points
5th place - 1 point
6th place - 1 point
7th place - 1 point
8th place - 1 point

These points will accumulate as the tournament progresses.

10 - Medals will be awarded at the end of each round to the top scoring players on each team (1st place only).

A Grand Champion medal will be awarded to the top scoring player overall at the end of the tournament.

Medals will also be given to each player who has completed every round at the end of the tournament.

N.B. - Any problems or grievances are open for negotiation but my word is final. Bad behavior (for example verbally abusing your opponent) could result in loss of all points/medals for the round or expulsion from the tournament.
